The statement by American US Ambassador to India Timothy J Roemer please see http://www.business-standard.com/india/news/us-wants-indian-biz-to-create-jobs-in-america/386126/ looks funny for me. On one side he talks gospel but on the other side there is lack of cooperation by the administration.
Three months back I have come to US on a tourist visa and is returning of 9 th May. During my short stay I was moved by the plight of the unemployed and put up proposal to combat unemployment in Indian style. Please see my blog: fightingunemployment.blogspot.com. I have proposed government, NGO, mentor websites and private individuals of US to come to my terms. I went to the extent asking to give a chance to me to prove my word purely on voluntary terms offering my expertise in this line. Everyone in US has put me down because it is an Indian idea and came openly that such will not work in US because it is simply Indian. In spite of referring success (e.g. Khadi and Village Industries or our government self employment schemes) I could not melt the ice. I feel these are simply gimmicks and what he meant or targeting is Indian investments in US. If Indian companies are invited to invest in US economy advertisement providing information to the extent showing competitive atmosphere like availability of efficient but cheap labor cheap raw material and other items much more beneficial for them over Indian economy. Only those companies who have exclusive American clients will get to think as he shows some tax benefit as a bonus. US economy will not interest those industries who have market throughout the world not only in US alone.
